NOTIFICATION
G.O.(P)No.9/2024/SCSTD

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 16 of the Kerala State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes Act, 2007 (20 of 2007), the Government of Kerala hereby make the following rules to amend the Kerala State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes Rules, 2011 issued by notification under G.O (P)No.57/2011/SCSTDD, dated 31 st
2May, 2011 and published as S.R.O. No. 336/2011 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.1146 dated 2nd June, 2011, namely:-
RULES
1. Short title and commencement:- (1) These rules may be called the Kerala State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Amendment) Rules, 2024.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of the Rules.- In the Kerala State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes Rules, 2011,-
(1) in rule 5, for sub-rule (1) the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:-
"The Government shall constitute the Kerala State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Services, consisting of all officers and employees of the Commission.";
(2) in rule 6, in clause (a), for the words and symbol "Government, Public Sector Undertakings" the words and symbol "Government Undertakings, Public Sector Undertakings" shall be substituted;
(3) in rule 7, in the marginal heading, for the words "Action on claims and complaints" the words " Action on complaints" shall be substituted;
(4) in the heading under Schedule I, for the words "Kerala State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes", the words "Employees of the Kerala State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes" shall be substituted.

3Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.)
Subordinate Legislation Committee (2011-14) of the Kerala Legislature, in its 15th Report has recommended amendments to the Kerala State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes Rules, 2011 issued by notification under G.O.(P)No.57/2011/SCSTDD. dated 31st May, 2011 and published as S.R.O No. 336/2011 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.1146 dated 2 nd June, 2011. The Government have decided to amend the said rules in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee.
This notification is intended to achieve the above object.
