ORDER
G.O.(P)No.225/2024/Coop. Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 19 th December , 2024 04th Dhanu, 1200 S. R. O. No. 1177/2024
WHEREAS, under subsection (1) of section 33 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Act, 1969 (21 of 1969), the term of an administrator or an administrative committee appointed to manage the affairs of a society shall not exceed one year in the aggregate;
2 AND WHEREAS, the said term of one year of the administrator appointed undersubsection (1) of section 33 of the said act to manage the affairs of the Kuttanad Employees Cooperative Society Limited No. A.732 in Alappuzha District expired on 09th November, 2022;
AND WHEREAS, under subsection (1A) of section 33 of the said Act, the Government may, by notification in the Gazette, for reasons to be recorded, permit the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to extend the term of the said administrator or administrative committee appointed to manage the affairs of a society for a further period not exceeding one year in the aggregate or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier;
AND WHEREAS, the term of the administrator of the said Society was extended for a period of one year from 10th November, 2022 to 9th November, 2023 in pursuance of notification issued under G.O.(P) No. 104/2023/Coop. dated 28th April, 2023 and published as S.R.O.No. 543/2023 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 1513 dated 4th May, 2023 and extended further for a period of one year from 10 th November, 2023 to 9th November, 2024 in pursuance of notification issued under G.O.(P) No.33/2024/Coop. dated 24th February, 2024 and published as S.R.O. No.226/2024 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.781 dated 1st March, 2024, and the term so extended also expired on 9th November, 2024;
AND WHEREAS, the Registrar of Cooperative Societies has reported that the election to the Board of Directors of the said society could not be conducted within the period and has requested to extend the term of the administrator for a further period of one year from 10th November, 2024 to 09th November, 2025 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier, to avoid administrative vacuum in the said society;
3 AND WHEREAS, the Government have examined the matter in detail and aresatisfied that it is necessary, in public interest, to direct that the provisions of sub section (1A) of section 33 of the Act shall apply to the said Society with certain modification and to permit the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to extend the term of the administrator appointed to manage the affairs of the said society for a further period of one year from 10th November, 2024 to 09th November, 2025 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 101 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Act, 1969 (21 of 1969), the Government of Kerala hereby direct that the provisions of subsection (1A) of section 33 of the said Act shall apply to the said society with the modification of substituting the word "three years" for the words "one year" and in exercise of powers under subsection (1A) of section 33 of the said Act, as so modified, permit the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to extend the term of the administrator appointed to manage the affairs of Kuttanad Employees Co operative Society Limited No. A.732 in Alappuzha District for a further period of one year from 10th November, 2024 to 9th November, 2025 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier, to avoid administrative vacuum in the said society.

The term of the administrator appointed under subsection (1) of section 33 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Act, 1969 (21 of 1969) to manage the affairs of the Kuttanad Employees Cooperative Society Limited No. A.732 in Alappuzha District
4expired on 09th November, 2022. The term of the administrator was lastly extended for a period of one year from 10th November, 2023 to 9th November, 2024 in pursuance of notification issued under G.O.(P)No.33/2024/Coop. dated 24th February, 2024 and published as S.R.O. No. 226/2024 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.781 dated 1st March, 2024 and the term so extended also expired on 9th November, 2024. The Registrar of Cooperative Societies has reported that the election to the Board of Directors of the said society could not be conducted within the period and has requested to extend the term of the administrator for a further period of one year from 10th November, 2024 to 09th November, 2025 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier, to avoid administrative vacuum. The Government have examined the matter in detail and are satisfied that it is necessary, in the public interest, to direct that provisions of subsection (1A) of section 33 of the said Act shall apply to the said society with certain modifications and to permit the Registrar Co operative Societies to extend the term of administrator of the said society for a further period of one year from 10th November, 2024 to 09th November, 2025 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier, to avoid administrative vacuum.
This order is intended to achieve the above object.
