In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (l) of section 36 D of the Wildlife Protection Act, l972 (Central Act 53 of 1972), the Government of Kerala, in supersession of the notification issued under G.O.(Ms.) No. 48/2016/F&WLD dated 24 th December, 2016 and published as S.R.O. No. 800/2016 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 2295 dated 31st December, 2016, hereby re-constitute the Community Reserve Management
2Committee for conserving, managing and maintaining the Kadalundi-Vallikunnu Community Reserve consisting of the following members namely:-

Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport. ) Community Reserve is an area including any private or community land not comprised within a national park, sanctuary or a conservation reserve, declared by a State Government where a community or an individual has volunteered to conserve wildlife and its habitat, for protecting fauna, flora and traditional or cultural conservation values and practices.
As per subsection(1) of Section 36 C of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 (Central Act 53 of 1972), the Government of Kerala constituted the Kadalundi-Vallikunnu Community Reserve as per G.O. (Ms) No. 66/2007/F&WLD dated 17.10.2007 and published as S.R.O. No. 859/2007 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 1880 dated 17th October 2007. It is located on the western side of the Northern Kerala in Kozhikode and Malappuram districts on the river mouth of Kadalundi River.
As per sub-section (l) of Section 36 D of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972, the Government of Kerala constituted the Community Reserve Management Committee for conserving, maintaining and managing the Kadalundi-Vallikunnu Community Reserve as per G.O.(Ms.) No. 30/2008/F&WLD dated, 26th May 2008 and published as S.R.O. No. 611/2008 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 1200 dated, l2th June, 2008. As per the G.O.(Ms) No. 29/2010/FWLD, dated 02.06.2010, the Rules & Regulations of the Kadalundi-Vallikunnu Kadalundi-Vallikunnu Community Reserve Management Committee Community Reserve Management Committee was approved, by which the duration of the committee is decided to be five years. As per G.O.(Ms.) No. 48/2016/F&WLD dated 24th December, 2016 and published as
4S.R.O. No. 800/2016 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 2295 dated 31 st December, 2016, the committee was re-constituted. In supersession of the committee constituted as per that order, Government of Kerala have decided to re-constitute the Kadalundi-Vallikunnu Community Reserve Management Committee with new members as shown above.
This notification is intended to achieve the above object.
