NOTIFICATION
G.O.(P)No.18/2024/DD S. R. O. No. 7/2025
Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 31st December, 2024 16th Dhanu, 1200 WHEREAS, under sub-rule (1) of rule 54 of the Kerala Co-operative Societies Rules, 1969, a society may, with the previous sanction in writing of the Registrar, invest the whole or any portion of its funds in the purchase or lease of land on the acquisition, construction or renewal of any building that may be necessary to conduct its business. The
2amount of funds so invested shall be recouped on such terms as may be determined in each case by the Registrar;
AND WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Punnayam Ksheerolpadaka Sahakarana Sangham Limited No. E 343 (D) APCOS in Koovapady block, Ernakulam district has resolved to request the Government to exempt the said society from the provision of sub-rule (1) of rule 54 of the Kerala Co-operative Societies Rules,1969, for the purpose of enabling the said society to accord sanction from the Registrar. The society already invested its funds for the purchase of 3 cent land in survey no. 31/7-1-2-2 in Assamannur Village, Kunnathnadu Taluk, for Rs.6,00,000/- (Rupees Six lakhs only) that may be necessary to conduct its business;
AND WHEREAS, the Director of Dairy Development who is also the Registrar of Co- operative Societies (Dairy) has reported that said society already invested its funds for the purchase of 3 cent land in survey no. 31/7-1-2-2 in Assamannur Village, Kunnathnadu Taluk, for Rs.6,00,000/- (Rupees Six Lakhs only) that may be necessary to conduct its business, without obtaining prior sanction from the Registrar of Co-operative Societies as stipulated in sub-rule (1) of rule 54 of the Kerala Co-operative Societies Rules, 1969. Now the Registrar of Co-operative Societies has resolved to request the Government of Kerala to exempt the said society from the provisions of sub-rule (1) of rule 54 of the Kerala Co-operative Societies Rules, 1969 for the purchase of 3 cent land in survey no. 31/7-1-2-2 in Assamannur Village, Kunnathnadu Taluk, for Rs.6,00,000/- (Rupees Six Lakhs only) which is necessary to conduct its business;
AND WHEREAS, the Government have examined the matter in detail and are satisfied that it is necessary, in public interest, to permit the Registrar of Co-operative Societies (Dairy) to exempt the Punnayam Ksheerolpadaka Sahakarana Sangham Limited No. E 343 (D) APCOS in Koovapady block, Ernakulam district from the provision of sub-rule (1) of rule 54 of the Kerala Co-operative Societies Rules, 1969, so as to enable the said society to accord sanction to purchase of 3 cent land in survey no. 31/7-1-2-2 in Assamannur Village, Kunnathnadu Taluk, for Rs.6,00,000/- (Rupees Six Lakhs only) for the purchase of land which is necessary to conduct its business;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by rule 181 of the Kerala Co-
3 operative Societies Rules, 1969, the Government of Kerala hereby permit the Registrar ofDairy Co-operative Societies to exempt the Punnayam Ksheerolpadaka Sahakarana Sangham Limited No. E 343 (D) APCOS in Koovapady block, Ernakulam district from the provision of sub-rule (1) of rule 54 of the Kerala Co-operative Societies Rules,1969, so as to enable the said society to accord sanction to purchase of 3 cent land in survey No. 31/7-1-2-2 in Assamannur Village, Kunnathnadu Taluk, for Rs. 6,00,000/- (Rupees Six Lakhs only) which is necessary to conduct its business.

Explanatory Note

As per the provisions of sub-rule (1) of rule 54 of the Kerala Co-operative Societies Rules, 1969, a society may, with the previous sanction in writing of the Registrar, invest the whole or any portion of its funds in the purchase or lease of land on the acquisition, construction or renewal of any building that may be necessary to conduct its business. The Board of Directors of the Punnayam Ksheerolpadaka Sahakarana Sangham Limited No. E 343 (D) APCOS in Koovapady block, Ernakulam district has resolved to request the Government to exempt the said society from the provision of sub-rule (1) of rule 54 of the Kerala Co-operative Societies Rules, 1969 for the purchase of 3 cent land in survey no. 31/7-1-2-2 in Assamannur Village, Kunnathnadu Taluk, for Rs. 6,00,000/- (Rupees Six Lakhs only) for conduct its business. The Director of Dairy Development who is also the Registrar of Co-operative Societies has recommended and forwarded the proposal to the Government to exempt the said society from the provision of sub-rule (1) of rule 54 of the said Rules for the purchase of 3 cent land in survey no. 31/7-1-2-2 in Assamannur Village, Kunnathnadu Taluk.
The Government have examined the matter in detail and are satisfied that it is necessary, in public interest, to permit the Registrar of Co-operative Societies (Dairy) to exempt the Punnayam Ksheerolpadaka Sahakarana Sangham Limited No. E 343 (D) APCOS in
4Koovapady block, Ernakulam district from the provision of sub-rule (1) of rule 54 of the KeralaCo-operative Societies Rules, 1969, so as to enable the said society to accord sanction to purchase of 3 cent land in survey No.31/7-1-2-2 in Assamannur Village, Kunnathnadu Taluk, for Rs.6,00,000 (Rupees Six Lakhs only) which is necessary to conduct its business.
This notification is intended to achieve the above object.
