In exercise of the powers conferred under clause (u) of section 2 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (Central Act 46 of 2023) read with section 5 of the Kerala Police Act 2011 (8 of 2011) and in partial modification of the notification issued under G. O. (Rt.) No. 1311/2010/Home, dated 9th April, 2010 and published as S.R.O. No. 388/2010
2in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 923 dated 13th April, 2010 so far as it relates to the location and area of jurisdiction of Kottarakkara Police Station, the Government of Kerala hereby declare that the building bearing No. 100/01 of Kottarakkara Municipality situated in Survey No. 233/2 of Kottarakkara Village in Kottarakkara Taluk of Kollam District shall be a Police Station known as "Kottarakkara Police Station" with the area of jurisdiction specified in column (4) of the Schedule.

Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.)
A new building has been constructed for housing Kottarakkara Police Station. Also there are some errors in the notification issued vide G. O. (Rt.) No. 1311/2010/Home, dated 9 th April, 2010 and published as S.R.O. No. 388/2010 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 923 dated 13th April, 2010 redefining the area of jurisdiction of Kottarakkara Police Station.
Government have decided to shift Kottarakkara Police Station to the new building bearing No. 100/01 of Kottarakkara Municipality situated in Survey No. 233/2 of Kottarakkara Village in Kottarakkara Taluk of Kollam District and to rectify the defects in the previous notification redefining the area of jurisdiction of Kottarakkara Police Station.
This notification is intended to achieve the above object.
