ORDER
G.O.(P) No.3/2025/Coop. Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 11 th January, 2025 27th Dhanu, 1200.

WHEREAS, under subrule (1) of rule 56 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Rules, 1969 (21 of 1969), no financing bank or credit society, other than an agricultural credit society with unlimited liability, (a Cooperative Agricultural and Rural Development Bank) and a society, the object of which is
2to grant long term loans, exclusively on the mortgage of immovable properties, shall grant loans for periods exceeding one hundred and twenty months;
AND WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Kerala Police Housing Co operative Society Limited No.4348 in Ernakulam District has resolved to request the Government to exempt the said society from the provisions of subrule (1) of rule 56 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Rules, 1969, for the purpose of enabling the said society to sanction long term housing loans for a period of three hundred and sixty months;
AND WHEREAS, the Registrar of Cooperative Societies has requested the Government of Kerala to exempt the said society from the provisions of subrule (1) of rule 56 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Rules, 1969 to sanction long term housing loans for a period of three hundred and sixty months;
AND WHEREAS, the Government have examined the matter in detail and are satisfied that it is necessary, in public interest, to permit the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to exempt the Kerala Police Housing Cooperative Society Limited No.4348 in Ernakulam District from the provisions of subrule (1) of rule 56 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Rules, 1969, so as to enable the said society to sanction long term housing loans for a period of three hundred and sixty months;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by rule 181 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Rules, 1969, the Government of Kerala hereby permit the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to exempt the Kerala Police Housing Cooperative Society Limited No.4348 in Ernakulam District from the provisions of subrule (1) of rule 56 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Rules, 1969, so as to enable the said society to sanction long term housing loans for a period of three hundred and sixty months.

3Explanatory Note

As per subrule (1) of rule 56 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Rules, 1969 (21 of 1969), no financing bank or credit society, other than an agricultural credit society with unlimited liability, (a Cooperative Agricultural and Rural Development Bank) and a society, the object of which is to grant long term loans, exclusively on the mortgage of immovable properties, shall grant loans for periods exceeding one hundred and twenty months. The Board of Directors of the Kerala Police Housing Cooperative Society Limited No.4348 in Ernakulam District has resolved to request the Government of Kerala through the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to exempt the said society to sanction long term loans to the Kerala Police Housing Cooperative Society Limited No.4348 in Ernakulam District for a period of three hundred and sixty months. The Registrar of Co operative Societies has requested the Government to exempt the Kerala Police Housing Cooperative Society Limited No.4348 in Ernakulam District from the provisions of subrule (1) of rule 56 of the said Rules for the purpose of the said society to sanction long term loans for a period of three hundred and sixty months. The Government are satisfied that it is necessary to exempt the Kerala Police Housing Cooperative Society Limited No.4348 in Ernakulam District from the provisions of subrule (1) of rule 56 of the said Rules so as to enable the said society to sanction long term loans to the Kerala Police Housing Cooperative Society Limited No.4348 in Ernakulam District for a period of three hundred and sixty months.
This order is intended to achieve the above object.
