In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 45 and 46 of Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 (Central Act No. 10 of 2017) read with rule 3 of the Mental Healthcare (Kerala State Mental Health Authority) Rules, 2023, the Government of Kerala hereby nominate the non-official members in the State Mental Health Authority and make the following amendment to the notification issued under G. O. (P) No. 87/2019/H&FWD dated 16th
2July, 2019 and published as S.R.O. No. 486/2019 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 1651 dated 19th July, 2019, namely:—

Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.)
Government have established State Mental Health Authority vide notification issued under G. O. (P) No. 87/2019/H&FWD dated 16th July, 2019 and published as S.R.O. No. 486/2019 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinay No. 1651 dated 19th July, 2019. Now, the Government have decided to nominate non-official members of the Authority under Section 46 of the Act, by amending the said notification due to the reason that the term of office of the non-official members has expired.
The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
