NOTIFICATION
G.O.(P)No.10/2026/Coop. Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 13th January , 2026 29th Dhanu, 1201 S. R. O. No. 52/2026
WHEREAS, under subsection (1) of section 33 of the Kerala Cooperative societies Act, 1969 (21 of 1969), the term of an administrator or administrative committee, appointed to manage the affairs of a society shall not exceed one year in the aggregate;
2AND WHEREAS, the said term of one year of the administrative committee appointed under sub section (1) of section 33 of the said Act to manage the affairs of the Vellanad Service Cooperative Bank Limited No. T 2379 in Thiruvananthapuram District expired on 10th November, 2025;
AND WHEREAS, under subsection (1A) of section 33 of the said Act, the Government may, by notification in the Gazette, for reasons to be recorded, permit the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to extend the term of the said administrator or administrative committee for a further period not exceeding one year in the aggregate or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier;
AND WHEREAS, the Registrar of Cooperative Societies has reported that the election to the Board of Directors of the said bank could not be conducted within the above said period and has requested to extend the term of the administrative committee for a further period of one year from 11th November, 2025 to 10th November, 2026 or till a newly elected committee enter upon office, whichever is earlier to avoid administrative vacuum in the said bank;
AND WHEREAS, the Government have considered the matter in detail and are satisfied that it is necessary, in public interest, to permit the Registrar of Co operative Societies to extend the term of the administrative committee appointed to manage the affairs of the said bank for a further period of one year from 11 th November, 2025 to 10th November, 2026 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier, to avoid administrative vacuum in the said bank;
3NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by subsection (1A) of Section 33 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Act, 1969 (21 of 1969), the Government of Kerala hereby permit the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to extend the term of the administrative committee appointed to manage the affairs of the Vellanad Service Cooperative Bank Limited No. T 2379 in Thiruvananthapuram District for a further period of one year from 11 th November, 2025 to 10th November, 2026 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier, to avoid administrative vacuum in the said Bank .

Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.)
The term of one year of the administrative committee appointed under sub section (1) of section 33 of the said Act to manage the affairs of the Vellanad Service Cooperative Bank Limited No. T 2379 in Thiruvananthapuram District expired on 10th November, 2025. The Registrar of Cooperative Societies has reported that the election to the Board of Directors of the said bank could not be conducted within the above said period and has requested to extend the term of the administrative committee for a further period of one year from 11th November, 2025 to 10th November, 2026. The Government have considered the
4matter in detail and are satisfied that it is necessary, in the public interest to permit the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to extend the term of the administrative committee appointed to manage the affairs of the said Bank for a further period of one year from 11th November, 2025 to 10th November, 2026 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier to avoid administrative vacuum in the said bank.
The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
