NOTIFICATION
G.O.(P.)No.87/2026/Home Dated.Thiruvananthapuram,7th August 2026 S. R. O. No. 689/2026
WHEREAS, Sri.V.K.Mohanan, Retired High Court Judge who was appointed as the Chairperson of the State Police Complaints Authority by the Government of Kerala as per notification issued under G.O.(Ms.) No.138/2023/HOME dated 1st June, 2023 and published
2as S.R.O. No.625/2023 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.1830 dated, 1st June, 2023, have resigned from the post of Chairperson on 20th May, 2026;
AND WHEREAS, the Government have decided to appoint Justice Sri C.N.Ramachandran Nair, Retired High Court Judge as the Chairperson of the State Police Complaints Authority for a period of three years from the date of assuming the office;
NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 110 of the Kerala Police Act, 2011 (8 of 2011), the Government of Kerala hereby appoint Justice Sri.C.N.Ramachandran Nair, Retired High Court Judge, 3B-Bhavani, Kakkanad.P.O, Ernakulam 682 030, as the Chairperson of the State Police Complaints Authority and consequently make the following amendment to the notification issued under G.O.(Rt.) No. 475/2012/Home dated, 17th February, 2012 and published as S.R.O.No.108/2012 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.331 dated 18th February, 2012, namely :-
AMENDMENT
In the said notification, for serial number (i) and the entries against it, the following serial number and entries shall be substituted, namely :-
"(i) Justice Sri C.N.Ramachandran Nair, ..Chairperson"

3Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.) The Government, have constituted the State Police Complaints Authority vide G.O. (Rt.) No. 475/2012/Home dated 17th February, 2012 and published as S.R.O.No.108/2012 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 331 dated 18th February, 2012.
As per the notification issued under G.O.(Ms.)No.138/2023/HOME dated 1st June, 2023 and published as S.R.O. No.625/2023 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.1830 dated 1st June, 2023, Sri.V.K.Mohanan, Retired High Court Judge was appointed as the Chairperson of the State Police Complaints Authority. Since he has resigned his office as Chairperson on 20th May, 2026, the Government have decided to appoint Justice Sri.
C.N.Ramachandran Nair (Retired High Court Judge) as Chairperson of the State Police Complaints Authority for a period of three years from the date of assuming the Office.
The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
