Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 31 st August, 2026 15 th Chingam ,1202 9th Bhadra,1948 WHEREAS, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 51 of the Kerala Town and Country Planning Act, 2016 (9 of 2016), the Goshree Island Development Authority has been constituted as per notification issued under G. O. (P) No. 29/2018/LSGD, dated 17th April, 2018 and published as S. R. O. No. 276/2018 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 1181 dated 3rd May, 2018;
And Whereas, as per notifications issued under G. O. (P) No. 6/2022/LSGD dated 19 th January, 2022 and published as S. R. O. No. 91/2022, 92/2022, 93/2022 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 309 dated 25th January, 2022 the Government of Kerala have appointed the Chairman and Members of the General Council and Executive Committee of the Goshree Island Development Authority;
Now, Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 52 of the Kerala Town and Country Planning Act, 2016 (9 of 2016), read with rule 5 of the Kerala Town and Country Planning (Development Authorities) Rules, 2015, and in supersession of the notification-I issued under G. O. (P) 6/2022/LSGD dated 19th January, 2022 and published as S. R. O. No. 91/2022 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 309 dated 25th January, 2022, The Government of Kerala hereby appoint Chief Minister of Kerala as the Chairman of the Goshree Island Development Authority. The term of office of the Chairman shall be five years.

16Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport).
As per notification issued under G. O. (P) No. 29/2018/LSGD. dated, 17th April, 2018 and published as S. R. O. No. 276/2018 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 1181 dated 3rd May, 2018, the Government of Kerala have constituted the Goshree Island Development Authority. As per notifications issued under G. O. (P) No. 6/2022/LSGD dated 19th January, 2022 and published as S. R. O. No. 91/2022, 92/2022, 93/2022 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 309 dated 25th January, 2022 the Government of Kerala have appointed the Chairman and members of the General Council and Executive Committee of the Goshree Island Development Authority. Now, in supersession of the above said three notifications, the Government have decided to appoint the Chairman and also to reconstitute the General Council and Executive Committee of the said Authority.
These notifications are intended to achieve the above object.
