NOTIFICATION
07-09-2026 G.O.(P)No.25/2026/F&WLD
Thiruvananthapuram S. R. O. No. 750/2026 In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (g) of sub-section (4) of section 329 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, (Central Act No. 46 of 2023), the Government of Keralam, hereby specify the following officers as scientific experts for the purposes of the said section, namely :-
1. The Chief Forest Veterinary Officer of Kerala Forest Department ;
22. The Forest Veterinary Officer of Kerala Forest Department ;
3. The Head, Wildlife Forensic Unit, Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur ;
4. The Assistant Forest Veterinary Officer, Centre for Wildlife Research and Forensic Lab, Wayanad ;
5. The Assistant Forest Veterinary Officer, Elephant Rehabilitation Centre, Kottur ;
6. The Assistant Forest Veterinary Officer, Punalur ;
7. The Assistant Forest Veterinary Officer, Konni ;
8. The Assistant Forest Veterinary Officer, Kottayam ;
9. The Assistant Forest Veterinary Officer, Abhayaranyam,Kaprikkad;
10. The Assistant Forest Veterinary Officer, Thekkady ;
11. The Assistant Forest Veterinary Officer, Munnar ;
12. The Assistant Forest Veterinary Officer, Chalakkudy/Thrissur Zoological Park ;

3Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.) Section 329 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, (Central Act 46 of 2023) provides that any document purporting to be a report under the hand of a given Government Scientific Expert to whom this section applies, upon any matter or thing duly submitted to him for examination or analysis and report in the course of any proceeding under this Sanhita, may be used as evidence in any inquiry, trial or other proceeding under this sanhita.
Clause (g) of sub-section (4) of section 329 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 empowers the State Government to specify any other scientific expert, other than those government scientific experts under clauses (a) to (f), by notification, for the purpose of section 329 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. Therefore, Government have decided to specify the above stated officers as scientific experts as per clause (g) of sub-section (4) of section 329 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023. Hence the notification.
The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
