Subject: Designation of Leh as a Model Town for the Implementation of Municipal Solid Waste

Management Rules, 2016.

However, subsequent to the J&K Reorganization Act, 2019 and the NGT Order in OA No. 606/2018, the notification was amended to exclude Leh District. Now, in accordance with the NGT Order dated 16th January 2019 in Original Application No. 606/2018, the competent authority sanctions the designation of Leh as a Model Town for the implementation of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 within a period of one year from this notification.
