NOTIFICATION
Ladakh, the 24th of March, 2026
S.O. 169 , In exercise of the powers conferred by proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India read with S.O. 282 (E) dated 21.01.2020, issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, the Lieutenant Governor of the Union territory of Ladakh hereby makes the following rules to further amend the Union territory of Ladakh School Education (Subordinate) Services Recruitment Rules, 2021 (hereinafter referred to as the 'said rules') notified vide S.O 47 dated: 29-09-2021 , namely:—
1. Short title and commencement. (1) These rules may be called the Union territory of Ladakh School Education (Subordinate) Service Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2026. (2) These rules shall come to force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. Amendments to Schedule - I: The "Schedule-I" to the said Rules shall be substituted by the following Schedule, as follows, namely: -LADAKH GAZETTE : EXTRAORDINARY 2

Note: */** The Teacher/Teacher Grade-III who were previously appointed/regularized from ReT on the basis of 10+2 qualification shall continue to remain in the Pay Level-4 and Teacher/Teacher Grade-II who were previously appointed/regularized from ReT on the basis of Graduation qualification shall continue to remain in the Pay Level- 5.".
1. Amendments to Schedule – II. —The Schedule – II (B)" to the said Rules shall be substituted by the following Schedule, as follows, namely: -

N ote: The promotion of persons holding the feeder posts of Teacher / Teacher Grade-II with B.Ed and having not less than five years of satisfactory regular service shall be made as per the existing mechanism (existing as on notification of these amendment rules) on the basis of combined seniority. | |
| Level-5 (29200-92300) | Teacher (Upper Primary) | 1. Graduation from any recognized University. 2 . Bachelor of Education (B. Ed). OR B .Ed. (Special Education) OR Three (03) years integrated B.Ed / M.Ed. AND 3 . Central Teacher Eligibility Test (Paper II only) | A) 95% direct recruitment with the following ratio. i) 58% Graduates in any discipline. ii) 30% Science Teachers: (Graduates with Physics / Chemistry / Botany / Zoology / Math as one of the subjects in Graduation). iii) 10% Language Teachers: (Graduates with Urdu / Hindi / Arabic / Bhoti as one of the subjects in Graduation) iv) 02 % Special Education Teacher: (Graduate with B.Ed in Special Education in respect of Upper Primary Teacher / Diploma in Special Education in respect of Primary Teacher from any institution affiliated with RCI) B ) 05% by Promotion from Laboratory Assistants, having Graduation with B.Ed. and not less than (03) three years substantive |

OR Two (02) Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR Three (03) years integrated B.Ed/M.Ed. AND 3. Central Teacher Eligibility Test (Paper I only) | A) 95% direct recruitment with the following ratio. i) 98 % Graduates in any discipline ii) 2% Special Education Teacher: (Graduate with B.Ed in Special Education in respect of Upper Primary Teacher / Diploma in Special Education in respect of Primary Teacher from any institution affiliated with RCI) B ) 5% by Promotion from Laboratory Assistants, having Graduation with Diploma in elementary Education and not less than (03) three years substantive service. N ote: In case of non-availability of suitable candidates, vacancies shall be filled up by direct recruitment under category A (i) above.". |
