NOTIFICATION

Ladakh, the 24th of April , 2026

S.O. 179, — In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India read with sub-section (1) of section 15 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services Decentralization and Recruitment Act, 2010, asLADAKH GAZETTE : EXTRAORDINARY 2 amended and adapted for the Union Territory of Ladakh, the Lieutenant Governor (Administrator), Union Territory of Ladakh hereby makes the following rules to amend Ladakh Subordinate Services Staff Selection Board Rules, 2024 (hereinafter called as the "Principal Rules"), namely :—

1. Short title and commencement. — (1) These Rules may be called the Ladakh Subordinate Services Staff Selection Board (Amendment) Rules, 2026.

(2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Amendment of Rule 3.— In rule 3 of the principal Rules, for sub-rule (4), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely: —

"(4) The Chief Secretary, Union Territory of Ladakh shall be the Chairman of the Board: Provided that, the Chief Secretary may, with the prior approval of the Government, assign the functions of the Chairman to any other senior Officer of the Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh, as deemed fit and necessary.".

3. Saving. — Nothing contained in these rules shall affect anything done or any action taken under the Principal Rules so amended prior to the commencement of these rules.
