NOTIFICATION
Ladakh, the 20th of March , 2026
S.O. 165. — In exercise of the powers conferred by Proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India read with S.O.282(E) dated 21.01.2020 issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India; the Lieutenant Governor (Administrator), Union Territory of Ladakh hereby makes the following Rules to amend the (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Rules of all Departments of the Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh, namely:—
LADAKH GAZETTE : EXTRAORDINARY 21. Short title, commencement and application.— (1) These rules may be called the Union Territory of Ladakh (Removal of Maximum Educational Qualification Requirement) in (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Rules, 2026.
(2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
(3) They shall apply to all such posts in all Departments, wherever such provision exist in the column for minimum qualification for direct recruitment under the (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Rules as specified in the Schedule to these rules.
2. Amendment to the Essential Qualification and Omission of Maximum Educational
Qualification requirement.— In the (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Rules of various Departments of the Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh, wherever the educational qualification prescribed under the minimum qualification for direct recruitment is mentioned as "Minimum 10th pass and Maximum 10+2" or "Minimum Matric and Maximum 10+2" or "Minimum Matric maximum 10+2 Class" or "Minimum Matriculation and Maximum 10+2" or in any equivalent form or expression, the said provision prescribing minimum and/or maximum educational qualification shall be substituted, by the following words and expression, namely:—
"Matriculation / Std. X pass from a recognised Board of Secondary Education or equivalent.".
3. Effect of these rules.— On and from the commencement of these rules, any provision in the (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Rules prescribing such minimum and / or maximum educational qualification shall stand substituted to the extent as provided in rule 2 for the post(s) specified in the Schedule to these rules.
