Apropos to the subject quoted above , the notification issued by the Election Commission for UTs vide Notification No: 10-1 /EC /LDH/ 2023 /617 dated : 08.09.2026 , regarding the revised list of EROS / AEROs is published for the information of the general public of Ladakh.

Subject: - Revised list of EROS /AEROs for Panchayat Halqas - reg .
Madam,
I am directed to refer to your office letter No.M /2578 /2024 - RD & PR SECTION /363-364 dated 08.09.2026 regarding the above noted subject and to forward herewith this Commission's Notification No. 10-1 /EC /LDH/ 2023 dated 08.09.2026 appointing Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers for Panchayat Halqas . It is requested that the said notification may kindly be published in the Official Gazette immediately and two copies of the Official Gazette containing the said Notifications may be sent to this Commission for its record at the earliest .
It is further requested to suggest a suitable schedule for preparation / revision of electoral rolls for Panchayats keeping in view weather and other conditions etc. in the UT to this Commission for further necessary action at the earliest .

Dated the 8th September , 2026 No. 10-1/ EC/ LDH / 2023 : In exercise of the powers vested in it under Rule 4( 4 ) of the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Rules , 1996 ( as applicable to the UT of Ladakh ) and in supersession of earlier notifications issued under the said rule , the State Election Commission ( Election Authority) , Ladakh , in consultation with the UT Administration of Ladakh , hereby designates the following officers of the UT Administration of Ladakh , as Electoral Registration Officers ( EROs ) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers ( AEROs ) , for all constituencies of Halqa Panchayats falling under their jurisdiction , as shown below , with immediate effect :

An Electoral Registration Officer may , subject to such restrictions as may be imposed by the Chief Electoral Officer ( Panchayat ) , employ such persons as he thinks fitfor the preparation / revision of electoral rolls .
Every Assistant Electoral Registration Officer shall , subject to the control of the Electoral Registration Officer , be competent to perform all or any of the functions of the Electoral Registration Officer .
