NOTIFICATION OF THE SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT
( SECTION 4 & SUB SECTION 3)
F.No. 34/2/2019-LR/1099 :- Whereas, the Government intends to acquire the following land in construction with the concerned Village (Dweep) Panchayat in KADMAT ISLAND in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep in effected area and carry out the Social impact assessment study for public purpose. The study shall be undertaken as per provision as Section 4 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

2. Brief Description about purpose - Land acquisition of land for School purpose of proposed acquisition of land at Kadmat Island 3. Extend of Land to be acquired - Survey Nos.166/10A2A1B- 400 Sqm 4. Project Area to be covered - Measuring 400 Sqm land proposed for the under S.I.A.
construction of School purpose at Village Kadmat Island.

Social Impact Assessment Activities :
1. Consultations - With stake holders of the proposed area
including Panchayat.
2. Survey (Organisation under - Social Impact Assessment and Consent Society take the study)
Union Territory of Lakshadweep will complete survey of the proposed area under acquisition within 2 (Two) months from the date of publication of this Notification.
3. Public hearings - S. I. A. Unit will decide the time and place for
public hearing before submitting S. I. A. report.
4. Time line - S. I. A. report and S.I. Management Plan should
be completed within 2 (Two) months from the date of issuance of this notification and to be published on the notice board of Collectorate, Lakshadweep and concerned Gram Panchayat.
If any attempt to coercion or threat is noticed/brought to notice, the same will render this exercise null and void. This issues with the approval of Hon'ble Administrator vide Diary No.426 dated 26-02-2020.

F.No. 05/01/2020-CO :- In exercise of powers conferred by Sub section (2) of Section 5 read with Sub section (29) of Section 2 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972 (Central Act 53 of 1972) and in supersession of all previous orders on the subject, the Administrator, Union Territory of Lakshadweep hereby authorises all the officers of the Department of Environment and Forest, Union Territory of Lakshadweep, not below the rank of Range Forest Officers to exercise the powers provided under clauses (a), (b), (c) and (d) of Sub section (8) of Section 50 of Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972 for the purposes of making investigation into any offence against any provision of Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
In exercise of powers conferred by clause (b) of Section 55 read with Sub section (29) of Section 2 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972 (Central Act 53 of 1972), the Administrator, Union Territory of Lakshadweep hereby authorises all the officers of the Department of Environment and Forest, Union Territory of Lakshadweep, not below the rank of Range Forest Officers to lay complaints before the competent courts for taking cognizance of offences committed against the said Act.
