PROHIBITORY ORDER U/S 144 CR. PC, 1973
F.No. 1/4/2020-Pol-Part-1/1454 :- Refer the order even file number dated 01-06-2020 regarding prohibitory order u/s 144 Cr.PC, 1973 in connection with Novel Corona Virus Disease (COVID - 19).
WHEREAS, the Ministry of Home Affairs Government of India has implemented lockdown measure to contain spread of COVID-19; further extended the lockdown in Containment Zone up to 31st July 2020 with guidelines on Unlock 2.
WHEREAS, the undersigned is satisfied that there is a real and imminent threat of possible outbreak of COVID-19 in Union Territory of Lakshadweep and there are sufficient grounds for extending the prohibitory order under section 144 of Cr.PC in the present case for averting danger to human life, health and safety.
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers vested in me u/s 144 (4) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, I Vijendra Singh Rawat, IAS, District Magistrate, Union Territory of Lakshadweep direct that :-
1. Any assembly/congregation of four or more person shall stand prohibited
from 10 PM to 5 AM in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep.
This order shall come into effect w.e.f 10.00 PM of 03-07-2020 in the entire area of Union Territory of Lakshadweep and shall remain valid until further orders.
Any person contravening this order shall be liable for punishment under section 188 and other relevant section of IPC.
