ORDER

F.No. 77/01/2019-PS&T (Cen.)/494 :- 1. As per the instructions contained in the DO letter dated 06-09-2019, Registrar General and Census Commissioner, India has issued instructions for freezing the boundaries for administrative Units for Population Census 2021 w.e.f. 31-12-2019. Accordingly, Union Territory of Lakshadweep Administration had frozen the jurisdictional changes in the boundaries of Administrative Units for the period from 01-01-2020 to 31-03-2021.

2. As you are aware that in view of the high alert declared in the nation consequent to the outbreak of Novel Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) the Population Census Operations has been postponed.

3 . Now, Registrar General and Census Commissioner, India vide DO letter dated 28-07-2020 has informed that the boundaries of Administrative Units for Population Census 2021 will now be frozen from 31st December, 2020 onwards.

4. Lakshadweep Administration having examined the matter in detail, are pleased to order that the boundaries of Administrative Units for Population Census 2021 in Lakshadweep will be frozen as on 31st December 2020.

F.No. 12/5/2017-E&F/1130 :- In compliance of the direction of the Hon'ble National Green Tribunal, Principal Bench, New Delhi in its order dated 28-05-2019 in OA No. 60/2018 (M.A No. 122/2019). A Island Level Monitoring committee is hereby constituted initially for the purpose of monitoring fire of coconut plantation/tree in Union Territory of Lakshadweep.

The committee shall consist of the following members.

- Chairman 1. DC/SDO of Island 2. Station House Officer - Member 3. Officer in Charge Agriculture - Member 4. Executive Officer, VDP - Member 5. Officer in Charge E&F - Member.

The committee will meet once in three months and address all the issues arising out of fire incidents on coconut plantation and submit the report to the Conservator of Forests, including effective implementation of the National Action Plan on Forest Fire.

This is issued with the approval of the Secretary, Environment and Forest vide Diary No. 815 Dated 22-09-2020.
