Accordingly the officer stood relieved from his duties on the afternoon of 02-01-2022.

F.No.B.11015/1/2017-Estt :- In pursuance to the instructions contained in the Office Memorandum No. 12/9/94-JCA dated 14-01-1998, Government of India, Department of Personnel and Training and in supersession of the earlier Notification F.No. 01-01-2011-Estt dated 28th November, 2013 of the Lakshadweep Administration, it has been decided to have the following office timings for all offices under the Lakshadweep Administration with immediate effect. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All the offices under the Administration - From 10.00 am to 6.00 pm with half an hour of Union Territory of Lakshadweep lunch break from 1.30 pm to 2.00 pm with all Saturdays and Sundays as closed holidays.

PROHIBITORY ORDER U/S 144 Cr. PC. 1973
F.No. 1/01/2020-CoL/PF :- Whereas with the emergence of new variant ' OMICRON' along with surge in Delta variant, has now posed a new and greater challenge in effective COVID management. It has been scientifically evident that the Variant of Concern, Omicron is at least 3 times more transmissible than the Delta variant.
And whereas, it has been felt imperative that the desired level of alertness and vigil has to be maintained without letting the guard down at this juncture. There is a necessity to regulate the movement of people, ensure strict enforcement of prescribed containment strategies, focus on the surveillance, strict observance of standard COVID-19 protocol etc. to prevent the spread of the virus in Lakshadweep islands as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
And whereas the undersigned is satisfie d that there is real and imminent threat of possible outbreak of COVID-19 in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep and that there are sufficient grounds for proceeding under Section 144 of Cr.PC in present situation for averting the danger to human life, health and safety of the citizens.
And whereas the circumstances of the situation do not admit serving of notice in due time upon all the persons residing in Union Territory of Lakshadweep, this order is placed ex-parte u/s 144 of Cr.PC.
Therefore, in exercise of the powers vested in me u/s 144 (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, I, S. Asker Ali, IAS, District magistrate, Union Territory of Lakshadweep hereby direct that :
I, Any assembly of four or more persons shall be prohibited in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep and this order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain valid till further order.
Any person contravening this order shall be liable for punishment under section 188 and other relevant section of IPC.
