NOTIFICATION OF THE SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (SUB SECTION 1 OF SECTION 4)

F.No. 34/54/2022-LR :- Lakshadweep Administration intends to acquire the following land for a public purpose as stated below, as per the relevant provisions of the 'The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013' for which Social Impact Assessment study has to be undertaken for the affected area as per Section 4 of the said Act read with Sub rule 1 of Rule 3 of the Right to Fair Compensa- tion and Transparency in Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement Rules, 2014.

2. Brief Description about purpose of

proposed acquisition of land : Land acquisition for the Construction of a

new 30 bedded Sea -View Hospital Building at Kadamt with world class Medical Infrastructure.

The present Hospital does not have adequate Medical facilities leading to distress to patients and higher dependency on mainland through Medical evacuations

which possess risk to the patients who are in need of serious medical attention. Presently , Hospital, Kadmat is functioning with minimal allied facilities and has been constructed years back which need to be provided with latest amenities to meet the need of patients which includes high end tourist who visits the island.

Social Impact Assessment Activities:

1. Consultations : With all the concerned stakeholders of the proposed area including the Gram Sabha.

2. Survey (Organization undertake the Study) : Social Impact Assessment & Consent Society, Union Territory of Lakshadweep will Complete survey of the proposed area under acquisition within 2 (Two) months from the date of publication of this Notification.

3. Public hearing/s S.I.A. Unit will decide the time and place for public hearing before submitting the S.I. A . report.

4. Timeline S.I. A. report and Social Impact Manage- ment Plan Should be completed within 2 (Two) months from the date of issuance of this notification and to be published on the notice board of Collectorate, Lakshadweep and the concerned Gram Panchayat.

If any attempt coercion or threat is noticed/brought to notice, the same will render this exercise null and viod.
