NOTIFICATION
Dated.06th July, 2024 No. 1/4/2024-Pol (1) :- In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 37 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (Act 46 of 2023) read with Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs Notification No. S.O 2506(E) dated 28th June, 2024, the Adminis- trator, Union Territory of Lakshadweep is pleased to notify the Police Control Room situated at Lakshadweep Police Headquarter, 1stFloor, Kavaratti, U.T. Lakshadweep as 'Designated Police Control Room' for the Union Territory of Lakshadweep as well as for the district of Lakshadweep.
The Inspector of Police (HQ), Police Headquarter, Kavaratti, U.T. of Lakshadweep shall be 'Designated Police Officer' for the Union Territory of Lakshadweep and shall be responsible for maintaining the information about the names and address of persons arrested, nature of the offence with which charged, which shall be prominently displayed in any manner including in digital mode at the district headquarters.
The Station House Officer (SHO)/Officer In-charge of every Police Station of U.T. of Lakshadweep (not below the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police) shall be the 'Designated Police Officer' and he/she shall be responsible for maintaining the information about the names and addresses of the persons arrested, nature of the offence with which charged, which shall be prominently displayed in any manner including any digital mode in every Police Station. The said information shall be forwarded on daily basis by such 'Designated Police Officer' of every Police Station to the 'Designated Police Officer' of U.T.
2 THE LAKSHADWEEP GAZETTE EXTRAORDINARYProvided that if the Station House Officer (SHO)/Officer In-charge of the Police Station is below the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, the Superintendent of Police, Lakshadweep shall designate a suitable police officer for such Police Station.
2. The said notification shall come into effect from the 1st July, 2024.

NOTIFICATION
Dated.06th July, 2024 No. 1/4/2024-Pol (2):- In exercise of the powers conferred by Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs vide Notification No. S.O 2506(E) dated 28th June, 2024 the Administrator, Union Territory of Lakshadweep is pleased to notify the following places as "Designated Place" for the purposes of proviso to sub-section (3) of Section 265, proviso to sub-section (2) of Section 266 and Section 308 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (Act 46 of 2023) :-
i. The Court Rooms as well as the video conferencing room in District & Sessions Courts, Kavaratti, Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Amini, Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Androth and Lakshadweep Camp Court Room, Kozhikode, Kerala.
ii. Video Conferencing Rooms in the Hospitals i.e. Primary Health Centers of Kiltan, Chetlat, Kalpeni Community Health Centers of Amini, Kadmath, Androth and Govern- ment Hospitals at Agatti, Kavaratti and Minicoy.
iii. Video Conferencing Rooms established in all the Police Stations, U.T. of Lakshadweep iv. Video Conferencing Rooms established at Sub Jails of Kavaratti, Amini, Androth and Minicoy, U.T. of Lakshadweep.
v. Video Conferencing Rooms in the Office of District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, U.T. of Lakshadweep and Deputy Collectors in all the islands of U.T of vi. Office room and Conference Hall of Adviser to the Administrator, U.T. of Lakshadweep.

x. Office room of SSP/SP (L&O)/ASP/Dy.SP (HQ) of Lakshadweep Police.
xi. Video Conferencing Room at Police Headquarters, 1stFloor, U.T of Lakshadweep.
xii. Office room of Secretary State Legal Service Authority, U.T. of Lakshadweep.
xiii. Video Conferencing Rooms of NIC on all Islands of UT of Lakshadweep and Lakshadweep Office, Willingdon Island, Kochi.
2. The said notification shall come into effect from the 1st July, 2024.
