**NOTIFICATION**
1. Whereas Section 6 of the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gram in) Act, 2025 provides for suspension of works under the Act for a period of sixty days in a financial year during the Peak Agricultural Season to ensure availability of labour for agricultural activities;
2. And whereas, the UT of Lakshadweep Administration has examined the recommendations received from the Department of Fisheries and Department of Agriculture UTLA regarding the periods of peak demand for agricultural labour in Lakshadweep;
3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 6 of the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025, the Lakshadweep Administration hereby notifies the following periods as the Peak Agricultural Season in respect of UT of Lakshadweep for the purpose of implementation of the said Act:

| This period coincides with the peak tuna fishing season in the waters of Lakshadweep, during which fishing and allied activities are at their peak, resulting in maximum labour deployment. | ||
| 1st December to 30th January | 60 | This period coincides with the peak tuna fishing season in the waters of Lakshadweep, during which fishing and allied activities are at their peak, resulting in maximum labour deployment. The demand for labour during this period is high, and any diversion of fishermen and allied workers to works under VBGRAMG may adversely affect the livelihood and income of fishing households. Allied activities such as fish curing and processing, predominantly undertaken by women, also intensify during this period, thereby further increasing demand for labour, |
4. During the aforesaid notified period, works under the VBGRAMG Scheme shall ordinarily remain suspended in accordance with Section 6 of the Act.
5. This Notification shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force until further orders.
6. The Department of Rural Development, UT of Lakshadweep Administration shall review the notified Peak Agriculture Season annually in consultation with the Directorate of Fisheries and other concerned Departments and may modify, supersede or issue a fresh notification, if considered necessary.
