NOTIFICATION
F.No. 2/7/2009 (P-1) :- In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to the Article 309 of the Constitution and in supersession of Recruitment Rules of Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli, India Reserve Battalion Group- 'C' posts Recruitment Rule 1999 (notified vide No. U-13034/33/96-GP dated 9.12.1998 & Notification F. No. 2/7/2009-IRBn dated 17.11.2012, except as respect things done or admitted to be done before such suppression, the Administrator, Union Territory of Lakshadweep hereby makes the following rules regulating the methods of recruitment for Group C posts in the India Reserve Battalion, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli Police, under Ministry of Home Affairs namely:-
1. Short Title and Commencement :-
(i) This rule may be called Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli Police, India Reserve Battalion ( Constable (Executive) (Group C posts) Recruitment Rule 2026.
(ii) This shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazattee
2. Number of posts, classification and scale of pay:-
The number of said post, classification and the Pay Level attached thereto shall be as specified in column 2 to 4 of the schedule annexed to this rule.
2 THE LAKSHADWEEP GAZETTE EXTRAORDINARY3. Method of recruitment, age limit and qualifications etc.. –
The method of recruitment to the said post, age limit, qualifications and other matters relating thereto shall be as specified in column 5 to 13.
4. Disqualification :- No person.
(a) Who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or
(b) Who having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person, shall be eligible for appointment to the said post:
Provided that the Central Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such persons and other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rules.
5. Power to Relax:-
Where the Administrator, Union Territory of Lakshadweep is the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, he may, by order and for reasons to be recorded in writing relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any class or category of persons except rule 4 of these rules.
6. Savings.
Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age limit and other concessions required to be provided for the Schedule Cast, Schedule Tribes, Ex-servicemen and other special categories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Central Government from time to time in this regard.

: Between 18 and 30 years Note:- The crucial date for determining the age- limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India ( and not the closing date prescribed for those in the Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of J & K State, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep).
The upper age limit relaxable by: (i) 5 years for Scheduled Cast/Scheduled Tribe. (ii) 3 years for other backward classes. (iii) The age concession for Ex-Servicemen and departmental candidates shall be allowed in accordance with the orders issued by the Central Government from time to time. (iv) 5 years age relaxation for Ex-Agniveers. (v) In case of post being filled up by all India open competition, age concession shall be allowed in accordance with the orders issued by Central Government from time to time. : Essential: 10+2 pass
07 Educational & other qualification required for direct recruits.

Bonus Marks: (1) NCC 'B' certificate: 1% (2) NCC 'C' certificate: 2% (if both B&C 2%) (3) UT/State level sports certificate: 1% (4) National level sports certificate: 2% (if both UT/State and National: 2%). Physical Standard: The candidates should meet the following requirements: -4 THE LAKSHADWEEP GAZETTE EXTRAORDINARY (i) Chest: Minimum 80 cms. (85 cms. after expansion) (ii) Height: 165 cms. (iii) Weight: Corresponding to height as per medical standards. Endurance: - (i) Race: 1600 Mtrs. In 6.30 Minutes. Ex-service & department candidates -8.30 Minutes (ii) Long Jump: 13 feet in 3 chances Ex-service & department candidates - 11 feet in 3 chances. (iii) Chin Up : 4, Ex-service & department candidates – 3 Shot-put: 7.26 Kgs-5.60 Mtrs, Ex-service & department candidates - 4.60 Mtrs. Medical Standards: - (a) Eye sight Distant vision Near vision Better eye worse eye corrected vision (corrected vision)

10 % is reserved for the departmental candidates for direct recruitment those who are working in India Reserve Battalion as MSE possessing the educational qualification prescribed above.
20% posts reserved for Ex-Agniveers ( 10 %
from UT of Lakshadweep and 10 % from UT of
Daman, Diu- DNH). This over and above ex-
servicemen.
If eligible candidates in Ex-Agniveers are not
available then vacancies would be filled up by
non Agniveers categories.
