In pursuance of clause (3) of article 348 of the Constitution of India, the following translation in English of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Act, 2018 (Mah. Act No. XXXI of 2018), is hereby published under the authority of the Governor.

An Act further to amend the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act.
III of 1888.
WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, for the purposes hereinafter appearing ; it is hereby enacted in the Sixty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows :—
Short title.
1. This Act may be called the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Act, 2018.

(a) after the words " or trading in agricultural produce " the words, brackets and figures ", animals, elegant or exotic birds and elegant or exotic fishes (except those animals, birds and fishes prohibited under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 or under any other law for the time being in force) " shall be inserted ;

(b) after the words " any of the items of agricultural produce " the words, brackets and figures ", animals, elegant or exotic birds and elegant or exotic fishes (except those animals, birds and fishes prohibited under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 or under any other law for the time being in force) " shall be inserted.

3. In section 401 of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, in sub- section (1), after the words " for sale any animal " the words, brackets and figures ", elegant or exotic bird and elegant or exotic fish (except those animals, birds and fishes prohibited under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 or under any other law for the time being in force) " shall be inserted.
Amendment of section 406 of III of 1888.

4. In section 406 of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, in clause (f), after the words " trading in agricultural produce " the words, brackets and figures ", animals, elegant or exotic birds and elegant or exotic fishes (except those animals, birds and fishes prohibited under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 or under any other law for the time being in force) " shall be inserted.
Amendment of section 461 of III of 1888.

5. In section 461 of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, in clause (ma), after the words " trading in, agricultural produce " the words, brackets and figures ", animals, elegant or exotic birds and elegant or exotic fishes (except those animals, birds and fishes prohibited under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 or under any other law for the time being in force) " shall be inserted.
