NOTIFICATION
No. BIE. 2018/C.R. 272/18/33.— Whereas, the seats of six (6) members of the Legislative Council of the State of Maharashtra, elected from the Local Authorities' Constituencies, specified in column (1) of the table below, as per the numbers shown in the corresponding entries in column (2) of the table, are going to become vacant, on the dates mentioned in the corresponding entries in column (3) of the Table ; and Whereas, a biennial election has to be held for the purpose of filling the vacancies so arising ; and Whereas, the term of office of the members to be elected to the above Legislative Council from the said Local Authorities' Constituencies shall be subject to the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in SLP (C) No. 17123/2015 (Election Commission of India Vs Devesh Chandra Thakur and Others) ;
Now, therefore, as recommended by the Election Commission of India in pursuance of section 16 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Governor of the State of Maharashtra is hereby pleased to call upon each of said Local Authorities' Constituencies, specified in column (1) of the Table below, to elect the number of members, specified against that Constituency in column (2) of the said Table, to the Legislative Council of the State, for the purpose of filling the above vacancies, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the rules and orders made thereunder.

No. 322/MT-LC/2018(LACs).— Whereas, the Governor of the State of Maharashtra has, by Notification issued under section 16 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951) and published in the Official Gazette of the State on 26th April 2018, been pleased to call upon each of the Council Constituencies, specified in column (2) of the Table below, to elect the number of member(s) specified against that constituency in column (3) of the said Table, to the Legislative Council of the State of Maharashtra :—

(A) Appoints, with respect to the said election,—
(a) the 3rd May 2018 (Thursday), as the last date for making nominations ;
(b) the 4th May 2018 (Friday), as the date for the scrutiny of nominations ;
(c) the 7th May 2018 (Monday), as the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures ;
(d) the 21st May 2018 (Monday), as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken ; and (e) the 29th May 2018 (Tuesday), as the date before which the election shall be completed ; and (B) fixes the hours from 8-00 A.M. to 4-00 P.M., as the hours during which the poll shall, if necessary, be taken on the date specified above for the election.

सं. ३२२/महा.-वि.प./२०१८ (स्था.प्रा.).----- यत:, महाराष्ट्र राज्य के राज्यपाल ने, लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम, १९५१ (१९५१ का ४३) की धारा १६ के अधीन जारी और राज्य के शासकीय राजपत्र में, २६ अप्रैल २०१८ को प्रकाशित अधिसूचना द्वारा महाराष्ट्र राज्य की विधान परिषद के लिए नीचे की सारणी के स्तम्भ (१) में विर्िनदिष्ट परिषद निर्वाचन-क्षेत्रों में से प्रत्येक से यह अपेक्षा की है कि उस निर्वाचन-क्षेत्र के सामने उक्त सारणी के स्तम्भ (२) में विर्िनदिष्ट संख्या में सदस्य निर्वाचित कर दें ।

(क) नाम निर्देशन करने की अन्तिम तारीख
- ३ मई २०१८ (गुरुवार) ;
(ख) नाम निर्देशन की संवीक्षा की तारीख
- ४ मई २०१८ (शुक्रवार) ;
(ग) अभ्र्यथिताएं वापस लेने की अन्तिम तारीख
- ७ मई २०१८ (सोमवार) ;
(घ) वह तारीख, जिसको यदि आवश्यक हुआ तो मतदान होगा, - २१ मई २०१८ (सोमवार) ; और (ङ) वह तारीख जिसको पूर्व निर्वाचन सम्पन्न करा लियो जाएगा - २९ मई २०१८ (मंगलवार) ;
नियत करता है और
(आ) ८-०० बजे पूर्वाहन से ४-०० बजे अपराहन तक का समय, उस समय के रूप में नियत करता है जिसको, यदि आवश्यक हुआ तो विर्िनदिष्ट तारीख को मतदान होगा ।
