No. MPI 1121/C.R.No.763/Pol-11.– Whereas, Maitreya Group of Companies, Maitreya Bhavan, Plot No.34, Behind ICICI Bank, Pandit Din Dayal Nagar,Vasai (West), Maharashtra 401202 (hereinafter referred to as the said " Financial Establishment"), has received deposits from depositors under the scheme to repay the deposits on maturity along with benefits promised thereof to the depositors ;
And whereas, an offence has been registered against the said Financial Establishment at Borivali Police Station, Mumbai vide Complaint Register No.107/2016, under sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act, 1999 (Mah.
XVI of 2000) and sections 34, 120B, 406, 420, of the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860) that they have collected the deposits and have failed to repay the deposits after maturity ;
And whereas, the Government of Maharashtra is satisfied that the said Financial Establishment and its Chairman and Directors have failed to return the deposits after maturity and the said Financial Establishment is not likely to return the deposits to the depositors ;
And whereas, the Government of Maharashtra considers it expedient to attach the money or other property believed to have been acquired by said Financial Establishment and its Chairman and Directors either in their own name or in the name of any other person from out of the deposits collected by the said Financial Establishment in order to protect the interest of the depositors of the said Financial Establishment and to appoint the Deputy Collector and Competent Authority (MPID) Mumbai City as the Authority to exercise control over the money and the properties attached ;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 and sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act, 1999 (Mah. XVI of 2000) the Government of Maharashtra hereby.
(a) attaches the money and other properties of Maitreya Group of Companies, Maitreya Bhavan, Plot No.34, Behind ICICI Bank, Pandit Din Dayal Nagar,Vasai (West), Maharashtra 401202 and its Chairman and Directors as specified in the Schedule appended hereto ; and
