Under Section 9 (2) of the Maharashtra Municipal Councils, Nagar Panchayats and Industrial Townships Act, 1965, taking into consideration, as per the Census of 2011 (including the population of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes) the number of elected Councillors in respect of Malegaon Nagar Panchayat area in Washim District, is fixed as mentioned in the following table.

Similarly, the total number of seats to be reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Backward Class of Citizens and seats to be reserved for Women (including the seats belonging to Scheduled Castes, द्धन्रु]क्ष् रू न् +रून् ॅ-+ +द्धन्म््र ह्यम््र ान्म््र, द्ध २, २०२३/ म् १२, ॅ १९४५ ११ Scheduled Tribes and Backward Class of Citizens) are fixed as mentioned in the following table.--
