Maharashtra EssEntial sErvicEs MaintEnancE act, 2023.
No.NAMPA-2024/CR-77/NAVI 25.—Whereas, the Nashik Municipal Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (Citylink) of the Municipal Corporation of the City of Nashik (hereinafter referred to as "the said Undertaking") is engaged in the supply of transport services in Nashik City ;
And whereas, bus services of the said Undertaking and posts in connection with the affairs of the said Undertaking, being the services and posts in connection with the transport service for the carriage of passengers by land and also with the affairs of the said local authorities, are the essential service within the meaning of sub-clauses (i) and (v) of clause (a) of section 2 of the Maharashtra Essential Services Maintenance Act, 2023 (Mah. XXIX of 2023) ;
And whereas, the contractual employees of the contractor of the said Undertaking engaged in the transport services provided by the said Undertaking are likely to go on strike ;
And whereas, the Government of Maharashtra is satisfied that, it is necessary, in the public interest, to prohibit the strike of the said employees employed in the said essential service ;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 read with sub- clauses (i) and (v) of clause (a) of section 2 of the Maharashtra Essential Services Maintenance Act, 2023 (Mah. XXIX of 2023), the Government of Maharashtra hereby prohibits the strike in the said essential service in the public interest, for the period of six months from the date of publication of this order in the Maharashtra Government Gazette.
