In pursuance of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Maharashtra National Law University (Amendment) Bill, 2024 (L. A. Bill No. XXXVI of 2024), introduced in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on the 21st December 2024, is hereby published under the authority of the Governor.

A BILL
further to amend the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014.
WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014, for the purposes hereinafter appearing; it is hereby enacted in the Seventy-fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows :––
Mah. VI of 2024.
Short title.
1. This Act may be called the Maharashtra National Law University
(Amendment) Act, 2024.

2. In the SCHEDULE appended to the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014, for entry 2, the following entry shall be substituted, namely :-
Amendment of SCHEDULE to Mah. VI of 2014.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.".

The Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad having its headquarter at Aurangabad is established under section 3 of the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014 (Mah. VI of 2014), with effect from the 27th June 2014.
2. The Government of Maharashtra has altered the name of revenue area "Aurangabad" and renamed as "Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar". In view of change in the name of revenue area "Aurangabad" as "Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar" it is considered expedient to substitute the name of "Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad" as "Maharashtra National Law University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar" and substitute the name of headquarter "Aurangabad" as "Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar" in the Schedule appended to the said Act.
3. The Bill seeks to achieve the above objectives.
