Reference :- Hon'ble High Court, Mumbai Letter No. B(W)A-2102 of 2020/2336/44608, dated 21st December 2022.
No. FTC-1423/C.R.-4/IX.–Whereas the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India vide order dated 27th March 2018 in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 231/2010 directed that the criminal cases pertaining to honour killing or violence to the couple(s) shall be tried before the designated Court/Fast Track Court earmarked for that purpose;
And whereas Hon'ble High Court vide letter dated 21st December 2022 referred above, has recommended the designation of one;
Now, therefore the Government of Maharashtra in consultation with Hon'ble High Court of Judicature at Bombay, hereby designates of one Fast Track Court of Seniormost District and Sessions Judge Cadre and if Fast Track Court of Seniormost District and Sessions Judge Cadre is not available, one of the Seniormost District and Sessions judge in all Districts for trial of criminal cases pertaining to honour killing or violence to the couple(s), with direction to try the cases on day to day basis to be concluded preferably within six months from the date of taking congnizance of the offence.
