NOTIFICATION

No.3546–VIII-Estt.-SM-168/2016(Pt.)/SM.— Whereas, NEERI Report on carrying capacity study for environmentally sustainable Iron and Manganese ore mining has been approved by MoEF, Government of India and the MoEF has requested the State Government to ensure its implementations.
Now, therefore the State Government, after careful consideration, have been pleased to constitute a Committee to oversee the implementation of the recommendations of the NEERI Report with the following composition.
1. Chief Secretary, Chairman 2. DC-cum-ACS Co- chairman 3. Principal Secretary, Steel & Mines Deptt. Vice Chairman 4. A.C.S., Forest & Environment Deptt Member 5. Principal Secretary, Finance Deptt. Member 6. Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport Deptt. Member 7. Secretary, Works Deptt. Member 8. Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Member 9. Member Secretary, State Pollution Control Board Member 10. Regional Controller, IBM Member 11. Regional Officer, MoEF & CC, Bhubaneswar Member 12. Chief Executive, ORSAC Member 13. Regional Director, GSI, Bhubaneswar Member 14. District Collector, Keonjhar /Sundargarh/Jajpur/Mayurbhanj Member 2 17. Representative of NGO working for social development Member Activities (one each from Keonjhar and Sundargarh District to be nominated by the Chairman)
18. Director, IMMT, Bhubaneswar Member 19. Director, NEERI, Nagpur Member 20. Director of Mines Member Secretary
The Chairman is authorized to nominate other members including expert members to the Committee as and when required.
The Committee shall monitor the implementation of the recommendations of the NEERI Report on environmentally sustainable mining.
