NOTIFICATION
The 31st October, 2018
No.8537–III-B-01/2018/R&DM(DM). Having taken into account the conditions as arising from dry spell, poor crop conditions, ascertained the distress situation that is likely to develop in the area affected by these conditions through crop field verification and on the basis of reports available from the Collector, Bargarh, Bolangir, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Nabarangapur, Nuapada, Sambalpur and Sundargarh the State Government do hereby declare drought of moderate/ severe nature in an area of 2,33,173.8 hectares in 5,633 villages under 1,186 Gram Panchayats of 66 Blocks and 78 wards in 16 ULBs of 9 districts as per the list given below:

The declaration of drought would come into effect immediately and would continue to be in effect for six months from this date unless revoked earlier by an order of the State Government.
The State Government hereby authorizes the Collectors to undertake relief measures in the notified area.
