Sub: Allotment of taken over leases to O.M.C. Ltd. for exploration under rule 67 of

MCR, 2016.

No.1754–IV(Misc)SM-46/2019/SM.— Whereas Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd. (State PSU) has proposed to undertake prospecting operations during 2018-19 in the following identified Blocks as reported vide its letter No.10405/OMC/2018, dated the 4th July,2018.

This boundary line forms common with the northern boundary line (part) of 6.181 sq m lease area of M/s Bird& Co. Ltd. Eastern boundary line – The eastern boundary line starts from the station point No. 7 and making there an interior angle of 1140 27' with line joining station point No. 6 & 8 and runs for a distance of 2850 ft or 868.68 m to meet the station point No. 11. Then the boundary line making interior angle of 1660 27', 1950 27' and 1860 27' at station point No. 11, 14 & 21 respectively and runs for a distances of 685 ft or 208.788 m, 2590 ft or 789.43 m and 2339 ft or 713.92 m to meet the station points 14, 21 and 33 respectively. [This boundary line forms common with the western boundary line (part) of 3240.47 acres (i.e. Block – A) of ML area of Sri B.N. Sarda's Thakurani area.] Northeern boundary line – The northern boundary line starts from the station point No. 33 and making there an interior angle of 1130 13' 40" with line joining the station point No. 32 & 34 and runs for a distance of 270 ft or 82.296 m to meet the station point No. 34. Then the boundary line making interior angle of 1680 06' 40", 1620 02' 20", 1730 16'40", 1590 06'00", 1780 25'00" and 1970 22'20" at station point Nos. 34, 35, 36, 37, 38 & 39 respectively and runs for distances of 440.84 ft or 134.368 m, 340.84 ft or 103.888 m, 230.84 ft or 70.360 m, 248 ft or 75.590 m, 572.56 ft or 174.516 m to meet the station points 35, 36, 37, 38, 39 & 40 respectively. Western boundary line – The western boundary line starts from the station point No. 40 and making there an interior angle of 730 33'20" with line joining the station point No. 39 & 41 and runs for a distance of 186 ft or 56.517 m to meet the point No. 41. Whereas Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd., among others, is exempted under the second proviso to Section 4(1) of the MMDR Act, 1957, from the requirement of obtaining prospecting licence for undertaking prospecting operations. However, to undertake such operations by OMC Ltd., notification is required to be issued by the State Government u/r 67 of MCR, 2016.

And, whereas, Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd., vide its letter cited supra has requested for such notification,

Now, therefore, after careful consideration, the State Government, in exercise of powers conferred under rule 67 of the Minerals (Other than Atomic and Hydro Carbons Energy Minerals) Concession Rules, 2016 do hereby notify aforesaid blocks for exploration by OMC Ltd. for a period of two years with effect from the date of this notification.
