NOTIFICATION
The 13th March 2024
S. R. O. No. 181/2024—The State Government do hereby make the following rules further to amend the Odisha Law Officers Rules, 1971, namely :—
AMENDMENT
1.(1) These rules may be called the Odisha Law Officers (Amendment) Rules, 2024.
(2) They shall come into force from the date of issue of the Notification.
2. In the Odisha Law Officers Rules, 1971 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), for Rule 16, the following rule shall be substituted namely :—
"16. The retainer fees per month of the Government Pleaders, Additional Public Prosecutors, Additional Government Pleaders and Special Public Prosecutors of the districts, Special Public Prosecutors and Additional Special Public prosecutors of the Vigilance Courts shall be Rs. 12,300 (Rupees Twelve Thousand Three Hundred only)."
3. In the said rules, in rule 24,—
(i) In sub-rule (1), for the figure, words and bracket "Rs. 1,250 (Rupees One Thousand Two Hundred Fifty) only" the figure, words and bracket "Rs. 1,875 (Rupees One Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy Five) only" shall be substituted;
(ii) In sub-rule (2), for clause (c), the following clause shall be substituted namely :—
"(c) The retainer fees per month of the Associate Lawyer shall be Rs. 8,100 (Rupees Eight Thousand One Hundred) only." :
Provided that such Associate Lawyers when engaged by Public Prosecutor 2 (iii) for sub-rule (3), the following sub-rule shall be substituted namely :— "The daily fees of the Assistant Public prosecutors of the districts and Vigilance Courts shall be Rs. 1,650 (Rupees One Thousand Six Hundred Fifty) only and the retainer fees of the said Assistant Public Prosecutors per month shall be Rs. 6,000 (Rupees Six Thousand) only".
