DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT (INDUSTRIES AND COMMERCE) (G.O. Ms. No. 12/2011-Ind.-A, dated 3rd February 2012) NOTIFICATION Whereas, in pursuance of the assurance given in paragraph 38 of the Budget Speech 2006-07, the Director of Industries and Commerce, Puducherry has proposed to include a new component for giving financial assistance to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for implementing the cluster development scheme with a view to improve the internal competitiveness of Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs) [ 59 ]

into the existing Marketing and Publicity Scheme viz., Scheme No. 7 in Annexure-II of the IX Plan being implemented by the District Industries Centre;

And whereas, by notification under G.O. Ms. No. 13/2007-Ind.A, dated 29-11-2007 of the Department of Industrial Development (Industries and Commerce), Puducherry, amendment was issued for giving financial assistance to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Puducherry to implement the Cluster Development Project in Puducherry;

And whereas, in the said Government Order it is stated that the

duration of the project is tentatively not more than 12 months;

And whereas, the Confederation of Indian Industry conducts Cluster Development Programme beyond the period of 12 months for the advantage of the Cluster members and therefore the prescription of 12 months as duration for the project is insufficient;

Now, therefore, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is pleased to make the following amendment to the notification issued under G.O. Ms. No. 13/2007/Ind.A, dated 29-11-2007 of the Department of Industrial Development (Industries and Commerce), Puducherry, namely:—

AMENDMENT

The following words in paragraph 2 of the abovesaid

Government Order shall be deleted:—

"The duration of the project is tentatively not more than

12 months".
