GOVERNMENT OF PUDUCHERRY

NOTIFICATION
Whereas, the land mentioned in the schedule appended below has been notified for acquisition for the public purpose i.e. for the formation of Western Bypass in Akkaravattam Revenue Village, Karaikal;
And whereas, the requisitioning Department viz. Public Works Department has requested to withdraw a portion of the land notified as in the schedule since the land is no more required for the purpose;
And whereas, the Government of Puducherry having satisfied that the land specified in the schedule is no more required for the purpose has decided to withdraw the acquisition proceedings;
Now, therefore, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 48 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (Central Act 1 of 1894) the Lieutenant-Governor hereby withdraws the acquisition proceedings initiated for the land situated in Akkaravattam Revenue Village as detailed in the schedule hereunder. Consequently, the notification under section 4(1) of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 approved in G. O. Ms. No. 36, dated 22-9-2010 and published 394 LA GAZETTE DE L'ETAT [ PART-I in the Gazette No. 50, dated 5-10-2010 and the declaration under section 6 issued vide G. O. Ms. No. 62, dated 18-2-2011 and published in the Gazette No.24, dated 2-3-2011 shall be treated as partially modified and withdrawn only in respect of the land mentioned in the schedule hereunder:
