NOTIFICATION
The Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry is pleased to hereby makes the following further amendments to the "Grant of State Awards for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities Rule 2000" issued vide G. O. Ms. No. 25/2000-Wel.(SW-II), dated 29-9-2000, namely:—
AMENDMENT
1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be called the "Grant of State Award for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons 2012".

(2) This takes with effect from the date of publication in the
official gazette.
2. Amendment of rule 6.— Nature of award—
(2) Each award for outstanding employees including
self-employed persons shall consists of the following:-
(a) The word "cash prize ` 5,000 shall be substituted as cash
prize ` 10,000".
(3) Each award for an individual shall consists of:-
(a) The word "cash prize ` 10,000 shall be substituted as
cash prize ` 15,000".
3. Amendment of rule 9.— Procedure for selection—
(1) On receipt of applications, initially selection will be made by a Preliminary Selection Committee comprising of the following officials :-
The Director of Social Welfare . . Chairman
The Under Secretary to Government (Welfare) . . Member
The Employment Officer
. . Member
The Senior Specialist in Orthopaedics/ENT/ . . Member Ophthalmology.
T h e r e p r e s e n t a t i v e o f Diff e r e n t l y Ab l e d . . Member Persons recommended by Member-Secretary (Deputy Director, Differently Abled Persons Division, Social Welfare Department).
The Deputy Director, Differently Abled Persons . . Member- Division, Social Welfare Department, Puducherry. Secretary.
(3) Final selection will be made by a Final Selection Committee
compraising of the following members :
The Hon'ble Minister for Social Welfare . . Chairman
The Secretary to Government (Welfare) . . Member
The Director of Health and Family Welfare . . Member Services.
