NOTIFICATION
W h e r e a s, o r d e r s w e r e i s s u e d i n p u r s u a n c e o f sub-section (3) of section 3 of the National Security Act, 1980 (Central Act 65 of 1980) directing t h a t the District Magistrate, Puducherry and Karaikal may also, i f satisfied as provided in sub-section (2) of the said section exercise the powers conferred by the said s u b - s e c t i o n , f o r a p e r i o d o f t h r e e m o n t h s f r o m 1 s t J u n e 2 0 1 2 in the Home Department's notification issued in G. O. Ms. No. 26, dated 6th June 2012;
2. And whereas, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry having regard to the circumstances prevailing in the Union territory of Puducherry is satisfied that it is necessary to extend the said period by three months from 1st September 2012;
3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (3) of section 3 of the National Security Act, 1980 (Central Act 65 of 1980), the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry hereby extends the powers conferred the said sub-section for a further period of three months from 1st September 2012.
