NOTIFICATION
The Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, Puducherry had implemented a Group Insurance Scheme called 'Rajiv Gandhi Jana Shree Bima Yojana (Aam Admi) Scheme' for the financial benefits to the members of Below Poverty Line Families in the event of death/accidents for a period of one year from 25-3-2010 to 24-3-2011 vide G.O. Ms. No. 54, dated 3-3-2010 of this department. Since Government of Puducherry had started implementing the 'Rajiv Gandhi Social Security Scheme for Poor Families-2012' through the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, Puducherry extending similar benefits, the 'Rajiv Gandhi Jana Shree Bima Yojana (Aam Admi) Scheme' implemented through L.I.C. for a period of one year from 25-3-2010 to 24-3-2011, and not renewed thereafter, shall stand abolished accordingly.

NOTIFICATION
It has been brought to the notice of the Government of Puducherry that various welfare schemes, as indicated below, which include death or accidential benefits are being implemented by the following departments which are more or less akin to the Rajiv Gandhi Social Security Scheme for Poor Families, being implemented by the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, Puducherry.

2 Department of Co-operation Co-operative Weaver Society operates Mahatma Gandhi Bunkar Bima
Yojana.
3. Department of Labour Life Insurance Scheme under the name Janashree Bima Yojana operated by 'The Puducherry Building and Other Construction Worker Welfare Board'.
The possibility of claiming by the targeted people, the death or accidental benefits offered in the Rajiv Gandhi Social Security Scheme for Poor Families -2012, to be operated by this department is not ruled out.
In order to prevent the misuse or double claim, it has been decided to constitute a committee as follows:-

The above committee shall examine the aforesaid welfare schemes being implemented by the departments mentioned above with particular reference to the objects, eligibility and the modalities and suggest ways and measures, including amendments/ alterations etc., to the said welfare schemes in order to ensure that there is no double claim among the various welfare schemes, extending similar benefits, being implemented by this administration. The committee shall submit its recommendations to the Government within one month from the date of issue of notification. Further, the committee shall convene a meeting as and when necessity arises.
