NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 70 of the Puducherry Excise Act, 1970 (No. 12 of 1970), the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Puducherry Excise Rules, 1970, the draft of the same having been previously published in the Extraordinary issue of the official gazette No. 2, dated the 2nd January 2012, as required by sub-section (1) of

section 70 of the said Act, inviting objections or suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby, within ten days from the date of publication of the said notification in the official gazette;
And whereas, the objections/suggestions received in response to the said notification in so far as it relates to amending the rule 118 relating to fees to be paid for several kinds of licences namely, FL. 1, FL. 2 and FL. 3 and imposition of licence fee for retail counter for FL. 1 and for godown of wholesale licensees, have been carefully considered by the Government;
N o w, t h e r e f o r e , i n e x e r c i s e o f t h e p o w e r s c o n f e r r e d b y section 70 of the Puducherry Excise Act, 1970 (No. 12 of 1970), the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby makes the following rules, further to amend the Puducherry Excise Rules, 1970, namely:—
1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be
called the Puducherry Excise (Amendment) Rules, 2013.
(2) They shall come into force on and from the date of their
publication in the official gazette.
2. Amendment of rule 118.— In the said rules, for rule 118,
the following shall be substituted, namely:—
"Fees to be paid.— 118. The licence fee for several kinds of
licences shall be as follows, namely :—
(a) FL.1 licence
. . ` 9 lakhs per year.
(b) Additional licence fee for retail counter run . . ` 4.5 lakhs
by the FL.1 licensee (without permission per year. to serve liquor for consumption in the premises).
(c) Godown fee to the FL.1 licensee . . ` 10,000
per godown per year.
(d) FL.2 licence (with permission to serve . . ` 6 lakhs liquor for consumption within the licensed per year. premises) excepting tourism category hotels/restaurants.

(e) FL.2 licence (without permission to serve . . ` 4.5 lakhs
liquor for consumption within the licensed per year. premises).
(f) FL.2 licence for tourism category hotels/ . . ` 4 lakhs restaurants to serve liquor for consumption per year. only in the restaurant (without permission for having retail counter and retail sale).
(g) FL.3 licence (One day licence) . . ` 2,500
per day.
(h) Additional licence to the Bar licence . . ` 5,000
holders for pub-centres. per year".
