ORDER

The Government of Puducherry has constituted a Centralised Admission

Committee (CENTAC) to regulate the admission of students to the first year degree

courses in Medical, Ayurveda, Engineering, Dental, Veterinary & Animal Sciences,

B.Pharm, B.Sc. (Nursing), BPT and B.Sc.(MLT) courses offered in colleges run by

the the Societies fully funded by the Government of Puducherry and for the

Government quota seats not more than 50% of sanctioned intake in the Unaided

Private Professional Colleges functioning in this Union Territory.

2. All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, has permitted

Engineering Colleges to admit students, who have a pass in three years Diploma

Course or four years sandwich Diploma Course in Engineering / Technology with a

[ 543 ]544 LA GAZETTE DE L'ETAT [ PART-I minimum of 45% marks (40% for OBC / BCM / MBC / EBC / BT / SC candidates) in

aggregate in the subjects covered in 3rd to 6th Semesters or a pass in any B.Sc.

Degree (with Mathematics as one of the subject at degree level) with a minimum of

45% marks (40% for OBC / BCM / MBC / EBC / BT / SC candidates) in aggregate in

subjects covered from first to last semesters except language subjects, to second

year/III semester of B.Tech. degree level programmes in engineering and technology,

subject to a maximum of 20% of intake sanctioned in the concerned branch of

engineering/technology, under Lateral Entry Scheme. However the students

belonging to B.Sc. stream shall be considered only after filling the seats with

students belonging to the Diploma stream.

3. Therefore, the Lieutenant Governor, Puducherry is pleased to order the

CENTAC Information Bulletin 2013-14 for Lateral Entry Scheme, which is annexed

to this G.O. prescribing the norms and procedures for admission of students to the

second year / III semester of B.Tech. degree courses under Lateral Entry Scheme for

the academic year 2013-14, thereby abolishing the entrance examination to the

Lateral Entry Scheme as is being followed in the neighbouring State of Tamil Nadu.

The CENTAC Information Bulletin for Lateral Entry Scheme 2013-14 shall be

downloaded from the CENTAC website www.centacpondy.com and the students

shall apply for Lateral Entry Scheme 2013-14 through online only.
