(i) The Town Survey Number mentioned in the table is in correlation with the Old Survey Number.
(ii) The '#' marked columns in the table contain the data according to the Old Survey Number which reflects the ground condition as on 24th January 1971.
(iii) The extent of land owned by Thiru Mohamed Ali Maricar (late), S/o. Haji Ibramsa Maricar and his family as on the appointed day was 19.90.72 HAC i.e., 15.23.88 SH. As per the judgment, dated 2-1-1979 in appeal Order No. 150 of 1976 of the Hon'ble High Court, Madras an extent of 01.11.68 SH has to be considered as the share of Tmt Julaiha Gani out of total extent of 15.23.88 HAC. Therefore, the balance works out to 14.12.20 SH. Out of which an extent of 08.40.00 SH of lands shall be retained by Thiru Mohamed Ali Maricar (late), his wife, 2 minor and 3 unmarried daughters (7x1.20). And the surplus lands will work out to 05.72.20 SH under Puducherry Land Reforms Act of 1973. Consent were given by the legal heirs of the land owner for handing over the surplus lands of 05.81.22 SH in 14. Keezhakasakudy, 7. Ponbethy and 6. Kurumbagaram Revenue Villages to the Government of Puducherry as this much extent has been declared as surplus.
LA GAZETTE DE L'ETAT [ PART-I 578 578(iv) Certain lands held by Thiru Mohamed Ali Maricar which in excess of the ceiling areas were under the Land Reforms Act have been sold by his legal heirs. The Authorised Officer (Land Reforms), Karaikal had ratified this sale within the retention portion on request of the purchasers, in his proceedings in MRI-74, dated 30-9-1997.
(v) The rest of lands covered under 8 (2) (b) orders which were situated in Keezhakasakudy Revenue Village were sold out to different persons. A major extent of these lands was developed into residential plots in the name of "MSP Lakshmi Nagar " after obtaining final approval from the Karaikal Town Planning vide Approval No. 1267/ KPA/2004-06/27, dated 17-1-2006. Now, the lands have been divided into 177 plots and have been purchased by different persons and few have constructed their houses and living there.
(vi) As the lands have been sold to many different people and has been sub-divided into many parts and has been sold to more than 150 people. Hence, it is very difficult to acquire the land in the same cultivable condition so that the land owner Thiru Haja Fakrudeen one of the legal heirs of Thiru Mohamed Ali Maricar (late) has agreed to hand over the surplus land available with him in Keezhakasakudy Village and subsequent lands acquired by him in Ponbethy and Kurumbagaram Revenue Villages in lieu of the surplus land that have been coming under the ambit of the Land Reforms case MRI-74 of the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973.
(a) '*' - The extent of the land mentioned is that part of the land which has to be taken over by the Government. The actual extent of the land as per the records is different for some of the R.S. No. /T.S. No. (b) '**' - The assessment of the land mentioned is according to the extent of the land present in the column (7). Place: Karaikal, Dated: 12-4-2013.
