NOTIFICATION

Whereas, the Government is of the opinion that an industrial dispute has arisen between the management of M/s. Meirs Pharma (India) Private Limited, Karaikal and its workmen Thiru P. Ramalingam and 28 others, over non-employment in respect of the matter mentioned in the Annexure to this order;

And whereas, in the opinion of the Government, it is necessary to refer the said dispute for adjudication;

Now, therefore, by virtue of the authority delegated vide G.O. Ms. No. 20/90/Lab./1, dated 23-5-1991 of the Labour Department, Puducherry to exercise the powers conferred by clause (c) of sub-section (1) of section 10 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (Central Act XIV of 1947), it is hereby directed by Secretary to Government (Labour) that the said dispute be referred to the Labour Court, Puducherry for adjudication. The Labour Court, Puducherry shall pass the award within 3 months from the date of issue of reference as stipulated under sub-section (2-A) of section 10 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 and in accordance with rule 10-B of the Industrial Disputes (Central) Rules, 1957. The party raising the dispute shall file a statement of claim complete with relevant documents, list of reliance and witnesses to the Labour Court, Puducherry within 15 days of the receipt of the order of reference and also forward a copy of such statement to each one of the opposite parties involved in the dispute.

2. Eligibility conditions.—The applicant who are native of Union territory of Puducherry by virtue of domicile or continuous residence in the Union territory of Puducherry for the last five years immediately preceding the date of notification only are eligible to apply for the post.

3. Selection process.—The eligible applicant shall be issued call letter to appear for the following test. The date and place of recruitment test will be indicated in call letters. Candidates will have to undergo the following tests.

(i) Physical measurement : Candidates will be screened first for height, chest and weight.

Physical efficiency test details:

Note: Each stage of physical efficiency test is a qualifying stage by itself for the next stage i.e. only the candidates who qualify in the stage-I of physical efficiency test will be eligible for the next stage and so on.

4. Written test (150 marks)—(i) All candidates who qualify in the physical standards and physical efficiency tests, shall undergo a written test. The questions will be in objective type and will be generally of S.S.L.C. standard. The question paper will be in single part of 2.30 hours duration with a maximum of 150 marks in each part on the following subjects:-

(ii) The written test will be in English, Hindi and Regional languages (i.e) for candidate from Puducherry and Karaikal in Tamil, for Mahe in Malayalam and for Yanam in Telugu. The questions for General English shall be only in English language.

(iii) For qualifying the written test the candidate should obtain a minimum of 40% in the case of General candidates and 35% in respect of others.

Note: (i) Physical test, written test and medical examination will be held in Puducherry only.

(ii) The candidates will have to appear for the physical efficiency and written test at their own expenses. SC candidates from other regions (Karaikal/Mahe/Yanam) are entitled to second class to and fro railway/ bus fare on the receipt of the railway/bus tickets.

5. Medical test.— The candidates selected in the written test will be put through medical examination to access their medical fitness as per the medical standards prescribed through the Standing Order issued by the Government.

6. Training.— The candidate shall be placed on probation for a period of two years from the date of joining the post as per recruitment rules (including the basic training for 1 year and they shall undergo an induction course/ capsule training and other required trainings).

4. Separate photograph of the applicant is not required to be sent along with the online generated application.

5. Self-attested photocopy of certificates for educational qualification, nativity/residence/community certificate issued by Revenue Department, Puducherry and certificate issued by Sainik Welfare for Ex-Servicemen are to be enclosed along with the online generated application.

6. Applicant should note the computer generated unique application number and should quote the same in all further correspondences to know his status of the application and also to get his hall ticket through online.

7. Applicants are advised to have a copy of the online generated application for his reference.

8. Copy of the online generated applications received at Office of the Superintendent of Police (HQ) after the due date and time i.e. 20-11-2014 (5.45 p.m.) will be summarily rejected.

9. Only after verification of the duly signed online generated application received from the applicants within the due date and time, hall tickets will be generated for issue. Applicants who have not submitted online generated application within the prescribed time shall not be considered for the recruitment examination.

11. All original certificates are required to be produced for verification at the time of physical standard test/physical efficiency test and also after the notification of results of the recruitment examination.

12. A separate press note will be issued in leading regional dailies regarding the issue of hall tickets through online to all the eligible applicants. The applicants can take the print-outs of their hall ticket in the website http://www.police.pondicherry.gov.in by using the unique application number generated while applying for the posts through online.

13. The applicants are advised to check the website to know the reasons for the rejection of their application.

14. The decision of the Government as to the eligibility or otherwise of the applicant for admission to the physical standard test/physical efficiency test/written examination shall be final.

15. The admission to the physical standard test/physical efficiency test/written examination is only provisional. Success in the examination confers no right to appointment. The appointment is subject to verification of educational qualification, nationality/residence/community and any other special category claimed by the individual and also verification of character and antecedents and medical fitness.

16. Since, the mode of applying is through online, change of data will not be entertained in future under any circumstances. The applicants are strictly instructed to adhere the conditions while filling up the data in the respective field.

17. No correspondence will be entertained with regard to the recruitment process. Candidates are advised to verify the status of their application/hall ticket, etc. through online only.

Now, the applications are invited for the enrollment of Home Guards from the resident of the Union territory of Puducherry as per O.M. The test will be of 2 hours duration with maximum of 100 marks questions. The questions will be of objective type and of S.S.L.C. standard.
