NOTIFICATION
The National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi – a Statutory Body constituted by the Central Government under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, has proposed to conduct National Mega Lok Adalat on 6-12-2014 at all levels, right from the Supreme Court to the Taluk Courts, in order to identify the cases to be referred to the National Mega Lok Adalat for disposal.
2. For the purpose, the National Legal Services Authority has indicated certain category of cases to be considered, while identifying the cases to be referred to the National Mega Lok Adalat for disposal, viz., 1. Criminal Compoundable cases.
2. Motor Accident Claims Tribunal cases : Accident Information Report (AIR) case should also be taken up in MACT, as also State Transport cases.
3. Labour disputes including where re-employment with no back wages (as per policy) could be disposed of and including cases relating to liquidation where claims of industrial workers for wages and other benefits are pending.
[ 645 ]LA GAZETTE DE L'ETAT [ PART-I 646 646 4. Land acquisition cases including relating to Industrial Boards, land acquisition for other Centrally Sponsored Schemes and also land acquisition execution.
5. Civil cases – rent, bank recovery, easmentary rights.
6. Revenue cases.
7. MNREGA.
8. Electricity and water bills (excluding theft cases)
9. Cases relating to sales tax, income tax, indirect tax (Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal) other Revenue matters in Mumbai/Delhi other commercial centres.
10. Service matters relating to pay and allowances and retiral benefits.
11. Forest Act cases.
12. Disaster compensation.
13. Miscellaneous appeals, Criminal appeals, Civil appeals, 2nd appeals, Original suits, Writs, MACT appeals before the Hon'ble High Court.
3. The National Mega Lok Adalat has also proposed to take up the cases on Mutation, Settlement and offences under section 133 Cr.P.C. before SDM Court, Settlement cases, Essential Commodities cases and Municipal cases. Therefore, the department dealing with the cases have been directed to identify suitable cases for reference to the Lok Adalat.
4. It is therefore, brought to the notice of general public that those who desire to take up their pending litigations as well as disputes in pre-litigation stage, before the National Mega Lok Adalat to be held on 6-12-2014, may approach the Nodal Officers of the concerned departments, as detailed hereunder.
