NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 109 of the Puducherry Municipalities Act, 1973, read with clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 208 of the Puducherry Village and Commune Panchayats Act, 1973 the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is pleased to appoint the following officers for the Municipalities, Commune Panchayats and Village Panchayats in Puducherry region and Karaikal District, to exercise all the powers and perform the functions and duties conferred and imposed upon the Municipal Councils, Commune Panchayat Councils and Village Panchayats, Standing Committees or other Committees of the Municipal Councils, Commune Panchayat Councils and Village Panchayats and the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, President, Vice-President and other authorities by or under the provisions of the said Act or any other law for the time being in force:

2. The above-mentioned officers shall hold their office till the new Municipal
Councils/Commune Panchayat Councils/Village Panchayats are reconstituted after
the conduct of civic elections to the Municipalities, Commune Panchayats and
Village Panchayats.
3. The above-mentioned officers, viz., Director, Local Administration De p a r t me nt , P u d u ch er r y s ha ll be p ai d a fee o f ` 5 0 0 p er month fr o m th e f u n d s o f Oulgaret Municipality and District Collector, Karaikal shall be paid a fee of ` 500 p er month from the funds of Karaikal Municipality for their services to be rendered to the Local Bodies.
