NOTIFICATION
The Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry has been pleased to approve
the proposal for enhancement of the quantum of financial assistance
granted to the Differently Abled Persons and for the said purpose hereby
makes further amendment to the "Grant of Financial Assistance to the
Differently Abled Persons Rules, 1992" notified in G.O. Ms. No. 36/2011-
Wel(SW-V), dated 30th November 2011 of the Chief Secretariat (Welfare),
Puducherry as follows, namely:-

AMENDMENT
1. Short title and commencement.— (i) These rules may be called
the "Financial Assistance to Differently Abled Persons (Amendment)
Rules, 2015".
(ii) They shall come into force with effect from the date of issue
of notification.
2. Amendment of rule 3.— In the Financial Assistance to
Differently Abled Persons Rules 1992, for rule 3, the following rule shall
be substituted namely:—
3. Subject to the provisions of rule 4, assistance may be
sanctioned to the Differently Abled Persons indicated below at
following rates, mentioned against each:-
I. For Differently Abled Persons who have ` 3,000 (Rupees
permanent disablement from 86% to 100%. three thousand (i) For "Mentally Retarded Persons" with only) per month..
I.Q less than 35.
(ii) "S p a st ic C hi ld " A ch il d affe ct ed
by cerebral palsy with disorder of
mo v e m e n t a n d p o s t u r e d u e t o a
defect or lesion in the immature brain
and non-progressive in nature who
have permanent disablement from
86% to 100%.

II. For Differently Abled Persons who have ` 2,000 (Rupees
permanent disablement from 66 % to 85% two thousand (i) For "Mentally Retar d ed P er so ns " only) per month

(ii) "Spastic Child" A child affected by

66% to 85%.
(iii) "Speech and Hearing Impaired" who
have permanent disabled range from
71 to 100%.
(iv) "Vi s u a l l y c h a l l e n g e d " wh o h a v e
permanent disab lement fro m 66%
to 85%.
(v) "Orthopaedically challenged" who
have p er manent d isab lement fro m
66% to 85%.
III. For Differently Abled Persons who have ` 1,500 (Rupees
permanent disablement from 40 % to 65 %. o n e t h o u s a n d (i) For "Mentally Retarded Persons" with f i v e h u n d r e d only) per month.
I.Q 50 to 69.
(ii) "Spastic Child" A child affected by
c e r e b r a l p a l s y w i t h d i s o r d e r o f
movement and posture due to a defect
or lesion in the immature brain and

(v) "Orthopaedically challenged" who
have permanent disablement from
40% to 65%.
IV. For Differently Abled Persons who have ` 2,200 (Rupees
p e r m a n e n t d i s a b l e m e n t wi t h o u t a n y tw o t h o u s a n d
d iscriminatio n to their per centage o f and two hundred
