TENDER-CUM-AUCTION NOTICE Sealed tenders offering the rate per kilogram are invited for sale of old newspapers (Tamil and English) belonging to the Department of Women and Child Development, Puducherry for a period of one year from 1-8-2015 to 31-7-2016.

2. The rate should be quoted for each item as follows:

4. The tenders in sealed cover superscribed as "Tender for purchase of old newspapers (Tamil and English)" should be addressed to the Senior Accounts Officer, Pondicherry Housing Board Building (Opposite to LIC Office, New Saram, Puducherry), Department of Women and Child Development, Puducherry-605 013, so as to reach on or before 11.00 a.m. on 31-7-2015. The tenders will be opened at 11.30 a.m. on the same day in the presence of tenderers present. The tenderer who quote the highest rate will be the successful bidder and the tender will be finalised in his favour.

5. The intending tenderer should deposit an earnest money of ` 1,000 (Rupees one thousand only). The earnest money deposit of the unsuccessful bidders will be refunded after finalising the tenders and that of the successful bidder will be retained till the period of tender as security deposit. The successful bidder has to collect the available old newspapers at the finalised rate from this Directorate and the Sub-offices.

6. Further, the successful bidder has to pay the cost in full and lift the newspapers at the agreed rate at his own expenses at 4 spells within the period of tender failing which the earnest money deposit, will once and forever be forfeited in favour of the Government and the concerned tenderer will be lose the right of removal of the items.

7. The undersigned reserves the right to reject any or all tenders without assigning any reason. Any contravention of the rules of tender notice will result in the forfeiture of the earnest money deposit.

8. No claim about the quantity, quality and the value of the sold goods will be admitted. The removal of items shall be only during office working hours.

9. VAT/Sales tax will be collected as per existing rates.

10. The successful tenderer should make his own arrangements to weigh the old newspapers subject to the satisfaction of the undersigned or his nominee in regard to weighment.
