NOTIFICATION
The Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is pleased to amend "The Puducherry Municipalities and Commune Panchayats Casual Labourers (Engagement and Regularisation) Scheme, 2011" notified vide G.O. Ms. No.2/LAS/2011, dated 27-5-2011 of Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry and published in the Extraordinary, Gazette of Puducherry, Part-I, No. 76, dated 30-5-2011 for implementation in the Local Bodies under the control of Local Administration Department with immediate effect.
In the said Scheme, in the paragraph 17, the following shall be substituted, namely:—
"17. Depending upon the requirement, not more than 75% of vacancies arising in the appropriate erstwhile Group 'D' posts (initial category) may be filled by absorption of Full-Time Casual Labourers available in the list approved and 30

[ PART-I not less than 25% of vacancies shall be filled by direct recruitment. The Full-Time Casual Labourers shall also be eligible for competing for the direct recruitment alongwith open candidates provided they possess the required educational qualification. They will be entitled for necessary age relaxation if selected.
In case of non-availability of sufficient numbers of Daily Rated Engagement for filling up of 75% by absorption, then the Department may resort to fill up the said shortfall also through direct recruitment".
