The Notification in S.O. 3385(E), dated 15th December 2015 of the Government of I ndia, Ministry of Enviro nment, Fo rests and Climate Change, New Delhi as published in the Extraordinary Gazette of India, Part-II, section-3 - sub-section (ii), No. 2687, dated 15th December 2015 is hereby republished for general information of the public.

NOTIFICATION
S.O. 3385(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986) and in pursuance of the notification of the Government of India in the erstwhile Ministry of Environment and Forests number S.O, 1533(E), dated the 14th September, 2006 (hereinafter referred to as the said notification), the Central Government hereby co nstitutes the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Autho rity, Puducherry (hereinafter referred to as the Authority, Puducherry) comprising of the following Members, namely:—
(a) Dr. G. Srinivasan, Professor,

Department of Chemical Engineering, Pondicherry Engineering College , Puducherry.
(b) Dr. T. Ganesan, Associate Professor, . . Member
Department of Botany, Tagore Arts College, Puducherry.
(c) Director. Department of Science, . . Member-
Technology and Environment, Secretary. Government of Puducherry.
2. The Chairman and Members of the Authority, Puducherry shall hold office for a term of three years from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.
3. The Authority, Puducherry shall exercise such powers and follow the procedures as specified in the said notification.
4. The Author ity, P uducherry shall base its decisio n o n the recommendations of the State Level Expert Appraisal Committee constituted under paragraph 5 for the State of Puducherry.
5. For the purposes of assisting the Authority, Puducherry, the Central Go vernment, in consultation with the Government of P uducher ry, hereby constitutes the State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, Puducherry comprising of the following Members, namely:—

6. The Chairman and Members of State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, Puducherry shall hold office for a term of three years from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.
7. The State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, Puducherry shall exercise such powers and follow the procedures as specified in the said notification.
8. The State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, Puducherry shall function on the principle of collective responsibility and the Chairman shall endeavor to reach a consensus in each case, and if consensus cannot be reached, the view of the majority shall prevail.
9. The Government of Puducherry shall notify an agency to act as Secretariat for the Authority for Puducherry and the State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, Puducherry, and shall provide all financial and logistic support including accommodation, transportation and such other facilities in respect of all its statutory functions.
10. The sitting fee, travelling allowance and dearness allowance to the Chairman and Members of the Authority for Puducherry and the Chairman and Members of the State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, Puducherry shall be paid in accordance with the concerned rules of the Government of Puducherry.
